Pilot Guidance
Please note that this pilot is a controlled preview of content in development for feedback purposes and not yet intended for public release. There are many things that may change before the release of the site and courses – one of the reasons we need your feedback! We kindly ask that you do not share any of the access information, screenshots, etc. in accordance with your respective confidentiality agreement.
This pilot runs from Monday, July 28th through Monday, August 11th at 12pm PST.
For this second pilot, you will be following instructions to register for a course as an existing user and reviewing some lesson and activity drafts – it should only take an hour or so at most to review everything once you have registered for the Pilot 2 course. In this pilot we are looking for feedback specifically on the ease of the course signup and checkout process, whether all necessary topics are represented within the course outlines, and the depth and applicability of the provided lesson and activity drafts. We have added some navigation instructions to help you navigate within the course and, when the time comes, to exit the course and return to the main PLIB education website.
- Follow the instructions in the Knowledgebase to register for the Pilot 2 Course. Submit any feedback you have on the course registration/purchasing process via the Submit Pilot Feedback button in the grey bar at the top of the page.
- Did you have any issues purchasing or accessing the course?
- Was there anything you found confusing about this process?
- Once you have signed up for and can access the Pilot 2 Course, review the outlines for the Intro to Lumber Grading course and for the NGR courses. Submit any feedback you have on the course outlines via the Submit Pilot Feedback button in the grey bar at the top of the page.
- Are there any major topics missing?
- Do you have any questions about what would be included in each section?
- Spend some time exploring the draft content in the second pilot course. Submit any feedback you have on the course outlines via the Submit Pilot Feedback button in the grey bar at the top of the page.
- Is the depth of information provided for each lesson sufficient?
- Do the activity and question types provided support the trainee’s learning?
- Is the information within the lessons arranged in a way that makes sense and builds upon previous learning?
- Are the lessons and activities arranged in an order that makes sense and builds upon previous learning/tasks?
You may submit feedback at any time via the Submit Pilot Feedback button in the gray bar at the top of the page.
- Keep the following in mind for your feedback focus:
Navigation ease during the course registration and checkout process
Completeness of knowledge expected in the course based on the outlines
Flow and structure of the lessons and activities
- The applicability, depth, and variety of content in the lessons and activities
- Keep the following in mind for your feedback focus:
IMPORTANT NOTE: The gray bar and Submit Pilot Feedback button will not show up while you are within the course content! To return to the main portion of the site from the course content, hover over your username in the top right corner and select Course Home.
There will be a lot of people to support during the pilot and only a couple people available at any given time to assist them, so in order to make sure everything runs smoothly we ask that you please submit any bugs, feedback, or questions via the pilot feedback form on the website or via email (education@plib.org).
If you need assistance or a response to your submission, please indicate this by adding ‘please respond’ to the end of your message so that we can prioritize assisting people who have immediate issues. If you do not indicate you require a response of some kind we will assume that you do not need one.
If you have trouble logging in please call the office (253) 835-3344 and we can walk you through the password reset process or investigate technical issues as necessary.
